The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) is committed to enhancing public safety through transparent, inclusive, and collaborative engagement. This page provides information on how the public, industry stakeholders, and regulated parties can participate in shaping the safety and regulatory oversight of liquid fuels (e.g., gasoline, diesel, heating oil), natural gas, and propane systems across Ontario. TSSA’s Fuels Safety Program regulates the transportation, storage, handling, and use of fuels including natural gas, propane, fuel oil, gasoline, diesel, butane, hydrogen, digester gas, and landfill gas. The program includes inspections, licensing of fuel facilities and pipelines, contractor registration, and certification of tradespersons who install and service fuel-burning equipment. Your input helps shape policies, standards, and regulatory practices that prioritize safety, environmental responsibility, and innovation.
